Canon canoscan 8800F review by Stockholmviews.com, page 3

Compared to some other scanners

This page contains comparison crops taken from scans performed with the
Canon FS4000 film scanner and the Canon 8600 scanner.
If you like to compare it to the 9950F just open the 8600F review in a new window

All images have been tuned with USM to get as much detail as possible from the scanners.

I rely don't care about the straight scan results because I think that the final result is the
one and only thing that counts.

All scans are at 4800dpi and saved as jpg quality 10 (High)
The FS4000 are interpolated to 4800   from its maximum scan resolution of 4000dpi.

 For the 8800F and 8600F the USM settings used = A:400 R:2,1 T:0
USM settings for FS 4000 was adjusted to suite the sharper raw scan from this film scanner.

By looking at the samples above, the winner is the good old FS4000 as expected :0)
But I can also spot a little improvement in the 8800F scan compared to the 8600F scan.

Next page the Canon canoscan 8800F and Vuescan, will it improve the performance?
