The Impossible Group have now merged with Polaroid to create an even better product:
The new working name will be Polaroid Originals. New direct film and direct film cameras will be launched shortly. The press release below image.

Polaroid One Step 2

Dear Impossible and Polaroid fans, Today is a day for the history books. It’s the 80th anniversary of the founding of Polaroid by the legendary Edwin Land.
It’s the day that the Impossible Project mission is complete after 9 years of hard work.
And it marks the next chapter in the Polaroid story with the launch of a new brand:
Polaroid Originals.

Polaroid Originals represents the relaunch of original format Polaroid analog instant photography, which the Impossible Project has kept alive and nurtured since 2008.
The Impossible Project could not be completing its journey in any better way than by connecting Polaroid back to the business that made it a universally loved icon.
And though Impossible brand is wrapping up today, the talented and dedicated team that made the Impossible possible is already putting all of their energy and commitment into Polaroid Originals.
In fact, the team has been working on this launch for the past seven months, which is why today we can present you with a whole host of great news.

Here are the highlights: Say hello to the OneStep 2 Today we are launching a new camera inspired by Polaroid’s original OneStep from 1977. Our goal was simple — create an accessible, easy-to-use instant camera that invites everyone to take part in analog instant photography. At $99.99, it’s more competitively priced in today’s money than the original OneStep was in 1977, and we’re excited about what that means for bringing more people into the analog fold.
Not only that, it’s just as easy to use as the original OneStep, but with some great modern features like a more precise, aspheric lens, powerful flash, built-in battery and self-timer function.

All new brand. All new film:
Polaroid Originals launches with a new generation of Color film, sharper and brighter than the Impossible film that came before it.
And with development time down to 10-15 minutes, it’s a big step forward for our instant color chemistry.
B&W is there as good as ever, and Special Edition film will continue, starting with the firm fan favorite, our 600 Color Frames Edition in both Color and B&W formulas. Vintage formats, and new i-Type: Polaroid Originals will continue to support the vintage Polaroid formats, including 600, SX-70, Spectra and 8×10, producing color and B&W film for each platform.

We’re also introducing the new Polaroid Originals i-Type format film — it’s now battery-free, so it’s better value, and optimized for i-Type cameras to offer the pinnacle of instant photography for the modern age.

And refurbished vintage cameras continue:

Our program of carefully refurbishing vintage cameras will continue with Polaroid Originals, so legendary Polaroid models like the SLR 680, SX-70, Sun 600, and Spectra/Image will still be found in our new webstore at polaroidoriginals.com.

In fact, they’re all there right now, with a few new additions on their way as well. Everything’s changing, but we’ve kept you in the loop: While clearly a lot is changing today, you don’t have to worry about missing a thing. All of our social media handles have quietly changed, so you’re still connected and following.

On our online store, your login details and purchase history are also completely intact, so you can carry on as you did before. And your email subscriptions are exactly as you left them.
Today, we feel both humbled and excited; humbled to have the privilege of being the next custodians of Polaroid analog instant photography, acutely aware of all the technical achievements and artistic endeavors achieved over the past 80 years; excited at the prospect of boldly innovating and creating again, to be back at the intersection of art and science, and developing this unique medium of creative expression so that everyone can experience its magic. It’s been a long road to get here, and we couldn’t have done it without your help, so we’d like to extend a sincere thank you for all your guidance, patience, and support. All the best, and I hope you’ll join us on the next chapter of our journey,

Oskar Smolokowski

About my findings and frustrations while digging in to the IOT world (Internet of things).

Just to make this clear I’m NOT a programming virtuoso, not even close!

However I will try to write down what I find out during my struggle to get my ideas to work.
I do this more like notes for my own reference but decided to share it just in case someone else might find it usefull. No! I will no be offended by creative and helpful suggestions!

My primary tools and hardware is a few different  ESP8266 development modules and boards, various Android phones and pads plus software and apps like, MIT App Invenor 2,  BLYNK and I will probably also dive in to MQTT and some other programing languages huuu…

ESP8266 in various incarnations and development boards.

Note: Info about the board in the top right corner is hard to get, I will post some secrets here sooon :-)

And all this just for fun :0)

The list of projects that I have in mind is.

  • Wireless control of a coffee grinder with built-in pre selects and weight based grinding for correct amount of ground coffee for wanted amount of brew.
  • A remote control app for my home cinema screen and window blinds.
  • A temperature and fire monitor app for a wood burning sauna.
  • Wireless controller for my high-speed slide film “scanner”.
  • And………?

The Zodiac MK5 HD project!

As a great fan of SIB’s (Soft inflatable boats) I will spend some time during this winter to write about my latest boat project. I will publish quite a lot of information and DIY stuff related to the old Zodiac Mk5 that I bought at the end of summer 2015.

Zodiac MK5 HD with steering console

NOTE: This page will keep growing from the winter 2016 and untill further notice.

I intend to cover the following subjects and projects.

  • Restorations of an old hypalon inflatable boat.*
  • Engine installation. I use a 115hp Evinrude 2 stroke engine on my Mk5.*
  • DIY aluminum steering console for the Zodiac Mk5 (No welding needed).*
  • Installation of hydraulic steering (Part of steering console project).*
  • DIY automatic bilge system (Will work for any kind of boat).*
  • DIY Advanced suspension seats for rough water boating (No welding needed).

*  = Completed project to be published A.S.A.P  all other projects will also be accomplished A.S.A.P  ;-)

My “No welding needed” approach is intentional just to make those projects possible to accomplish for all people who are used to work with common woodworking power tools!

You have been reading in-ear headphone web reviews for hours and days and finally bought a pair that was highly rated and within your budget (I did). [Full article here]
The disappointment when you first plugged them in and listened to your favourite track was as big as your expectation of finally getting a great pair of IEM headphones (In Ear Mmonitor)  at a decent price (I also had that experience).

Why did they sound that thin and edgy? All the reviews I had been reading rated them high and even called them “a bargain with a sound worth twice the asked price”!

After making some experiments with the included silicon tips I finally came to the solution that they didn’t fit my ear channels good enough, they didn’t manage to create an airtight chamber for the headphones to work in. That also caused them to lose level at the bottom end of the frequency range and made them sound harsh and thin.

I decided to spend a few more hours on the www to find some better headphone tips that might fit my ears better. I ended up buying four different types of tips as below, Silicone, Tree type, Memory foam (Red). The type of tips that saved me was a pair of the memory foam type made by Comply

Silicone-earbudsTree tupe headphone tips

Memoryfoam earphone tips

The solution was as simple as it was cheap, and at the end I was happy with my headphones as they now sound as good as the reviews that sold them to me indicated.

This lens would suit me just perfect as a daily driver for urban photography.
I would love it as a companion to my Nikon D7000 until I get a chance to buy the Nikon D500 at a reasonable price (might differ as that price tag is individual ;-)

Wy don’t I want the D5 as bad as this baby?
Well I don’t really like to carry more weight than necessary and the DX format is at this time (Year 2016) at a level that is beyond the FX cameras of the past years in most aspects.

I rather spend my money on geting to the shooting sites than on gear that I don’t need or can afford, this lens is just about within reach for my budget and will most likely outlast my next two or three DSLR bodys. I would have loved to write a review of it if I could, but my budget say wait a few months or a year and the initial price will 2212294583drop a bit :-)

At this time I sugest yo take a look at the site owned by most productive man on earth Ken Rockwell and his review of the Nikon 16-80mm F/2.8-4E ED
